MeANA would like to congratulate Bruce O’Donnell, CRNA who received the Allied Health Award from the Maine Hospital Association recognizing his significant contribution to his patients, hospitals, and MeANA. Bruce has served the Maine Association of Nurse Anesthetists as president, Director, and chair of various committees. He has also served his colleagues by holding national office in the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA). He is an original participant in the AANA Friends for Life program supporting the AANA Foundation which funds scholarships and research grants, promoting anesthesia care. He has always been a staunch advocate for students and education, encouraging all anesthesia professionals to excel and to participate in life-long learning. He has served all of us as a veteran of the US Armed Forces. Recently, Bruce completed a tenure serving all Maine’s citizens on the Maine State Board of Nursing, assuring patient safety throughout our state. He remains active advocating for all Maine’s Advance Practice Registered Nurses and serves as a knowledgeable resource. Currently, he is Chief Anesthetist at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Maine.
